501(c)(3) Nonprofit Organization
The New Mexico Building Industry Institute advances housing abundance, workforce development, and industry education across the state.
Who We Are
NMBII is a nonpartisan, statewide nonprofit dedicated to addressing New Mexico's housing crisis through policy, education, and coalition work.
To advance housing abundance in New Mexico by educating policymakers, building industry coalitions, and developing the next generation of construction workforce professionals.
A New Mexico where every family has access to safe, attainable housing — supported by a thriving, skilled building industry and a policy environment that enables growth.
Our Work
NMBII advances its mission through two flagship programs focused on policy advocacy and industry leadership.
A statewide coalition of builders, lenders, local governments, and community advocates working to remove regulatory barriers and increase the supply of attainable housing across New Mexico. The Coalition engages the Legislature, state agencies, and local governments to advance pro-housing policy reforms.
New Mexico's premier annual gathering of residential and commercial builders, developers, suppliers, and policymakers. The Summit convenes industry leaders to address workforce shortages, rising construction costs, regulatory reform, and the future of housing in the state. The 2026 Summit continues a tradition of actionable conversation and industry alignment.
Governance
NMBII is governed by a volunteer board of directors drawn from across New Mexico's building and housing industry.
